The Guelph Soccer "Kickz Project" is designed to:

  • Offer coaching, playing and officiating opportunities to "disadvantaged" youth in the Community.
  • Offer opportunities for the physical development of our youth.
  • Provide volunteering opportunities (as asst. coaches) within the project.
  • Provide employment opportunities (as referees/ part-time employees) within Guelph Soccer.
  • Take soccer out into the Community.

Make Guelph Soccer a true "Community Partner"

The partnership with Onward Willow and the Guelph Police provides a weekly soccer skills session. Kickz is now in its third session and has impacted over 50 children through participating in the program.

Registration for this edition of Kickz is available through Onward Willow only.

Guelph Soccer is pleased that they are currently exploring options to expand the program to other neighbourhood groups. “We hope that by 2011, we have multiple neighbourhood groups participating in the Kickz program. We are looking at all the barriers that exist to participating in soccer and getting active, and we hope that with the implementation of programs such as Kickz we can reduce those barriers” said Sara McConaghy from Guelph Soccer.

For more information on the Kickz project, contact Sara McConaghy at sara.mcconaghy@guelphsoccer.ca or 519-824-2199 x17.
