What is the Guelph Coordinating Committee?

Guelph has a Coordinating Committee to support collaboration amongst different organizations in our couch_potato.jpgcommunity. We have representatives from:

  • City of Guelph
  • Guelph Community Health Centre
  • Guelph Youth Sports Advisory Council (represented by Guelph Soccer)
  • University of Guelph
  • Health & Performance Centre
  • Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health
  • YMCA-YWCA of Guelph
  • Guelph Family Health Team
  • Guelph Wellness Initiative

We also have a in motion Workplace Committee with representatives from 15 area organizations and businesses. This committee empowers workplaces to promote physical activity by offering low-cost, simple ideas to implement; evaluation guidelines and tools; and opportunities for partners to share, network, and celebrate successes.

Both committees meet monthly to work toward creating a culture of physical activity. If you are interested in more information, please contact Karen Armstrong, who is our regional coordinator.
